For travelers who love the atmosphere of Halloween season but would rather skip the haunted houses, Land of Illusion has introduced another way to spend an evening at the popular Middletown, Ohio, destination.
LANDFEST gives visitors access to live entertainment, food, vendors and a carnival atmosphere surrounding Land of Illusion without requiring them to enter one of the park’s haunted attractions.
And admission is just $15.
It creates an intriguing option for couples, groups of friends and families looking for a fall night out — especially when not everyone in the group wants to spend the evening being chased through the woods or startled inside a haunted house.

A Different Side of Land of Illusion
Land of Illusion is best known for its Halloween attractions, including the Middletown Haunted Trail, which has been frightening visitors since 1997.
LANDFEST showcases another side of the destination.
Visitors can browse vendor markets presented with Full Moon Markets, catch live concerts and entertainment, enjoy food and drinks, play games and take in the energy of the surrounding carnival.
Football fans have another reason to stick around. Games are shown on a massive projector, turning a Saturday or Sunday night at Land of Illusion into something more than a traditional Halloween outing.

A State Fair Atmosphere for Fall
A State Fair Carnival Area, which began operating Sept. 25, adds another dimension to LANDFEST.
Combined with games and seasonal entertainment, the carnival helps give the experience the feel of a nighttime fall festival.
Different themed weekends also mean the experience can change depending on when you visit, giving travelers a reason to check the entertainment lineup before making plans.
For groups with different interests, that variety could be one of LANDFEST’s biggest advantages. Some may come for the music, others for the football game or vendors, while others may simply want to enjoy a fall evening surrounded by the sights and sounds of the Halloween season.

Another Way to Experience Land of Illusion
LANDFEST offers a lower-cost way to experience the atmosphere surrounding one of southwest Ohio’s best-known Halloween destinations.
It could also appeal to people who have always been curious about Land of Illusion but passed on visiting because haunted attractions simply aren’t their thing.
Rather than making scares the focus, LANDFEST makes the overall atmosphere the attraction.

Halloween Season Doesn’t Have to Be Scary
Fall entertainment is often divided between family festivals and full-blown haunted attractions, but LANDFEST lands somewhere in between.
You still get the nighttime atmosphere of one of southwest Ohio’s best-known Halloween destinations, but you decide how much — or how little — frightening fun you want to add to the evening.
For some visitors, the haunted attractions will remain the main event.
For everyone else, there is now another option.
Grab some food. Browse the market. Catch the game. Listen to a band. Enjoy the carnival.
And leave the screaming to somebody else.
