For most people, Land of Illusion is known for a few things—summer days at the waterpark, fall nights inside the haunted scream park, magical Christmas nights and the kind of seasonal experiences that bring crowds back year after year.
But this summer, something a little different is taking shape….
Behind the scenes, the park has been building out a lineup that goes well beyond its usual schedule. Not just one event, but a full mix of festivals, fights, and experiences that don’t normally share the same space.
And it starts SOON!

A Summer Built Around More Than Just the Park
The first major shift comes in June.
On June 13, the park hosts a full outdoor boxing event under the lights, part of the Prizefighter Series. It’s the kind of card that’s been gaining attention for focusing on real matchups—fighters pushed to compete, not just fill a slot.
Names like DeAndre Ware and Samuel Wildenhaus headline a night built around competition, not predictability.

It’s the first of three combat-style events planned for the summer.
From there, things move into July with a full MMA night scheduled for July 11. Details are still coming together, but the idea stays the same—live competition, outdoor setting, and a crowd that’s close enough to feel every moment.
Then later in the season, something a little different.
On August 22, the beaches of Aqua Adventures shift from slides and sand to strength and competition, with a strongman-style event set to take place right on the shoreline. Not much has been released yet, but it’s another example of how the park is experimenting with how the space can be used.
Three events. Three completely different formats. All happening within a few months.

Where It All Comes Together: PALEFEST
If there’s one event that captures the direction things are heading, it’s PALEFEST.
Set for July 24 and 25, running from 11 in the morning until 2 in the morning both days, it’s not built around just one idea. It’s built around five.
A convention-style vendor market. A full tattoo festival. A two-night concert series. A waterpark. And a haunted scream park.
Individually, those things make sense. Together, it’s not something you see very often.
The closest comparison might be a mix of events people already know—parts of TransWorld or HorrorHound blended with the energy of large music festivals like Inkcarceration or Sonic Temple—but even that doesn’t fully land.
This is all of it, happening at once, in one place.
The vendor side leans heavily into horror and mask culture, with artists, creators, and collectors bringing in everything from handcrafted pieces to full-scale displays. For people deep into that world, it’s a chance to connect directly with the people behind it.
For everyone else, it’s something different to walk through.
The tattoo side runs alongside it, turning part of the weekend into a full-on tattoo fest, with artists working live while the rest of the event unfolds around them.
And then there’s the music.

Two nights. Live performances running late. The kind of lineup that shifts the energy of the entire park once the sun starts to drop.
But what makes PALEFEST stand out isn’t just what’s added—it’s what’s already there.
During the day, Aqua Adventures stays fully open. Slides running, beaches active, people moving back and forth between water and everything else happening across the property.
From 1pm to 6pm, the haunted scream park opens in a way it normally doesn’t, offering daytime walkthroughs and behind-the-scenes access that’s usually off-limits during peak season.
Then once the concerts wind down, everything flips.
The haunts reopen at full intensity, actors in place, running late into the night.
It’s a full cycle—water, vendors, tattoos, music, and scares—repeating across two days with no real pause in between.

For out-of-town visitors, there are even travel options being built into the experience, including hotel partnerships nearby and on-site camping for those who want to stay close to everything.
And based on early conversations, people aren’t just coming from nearby cities. There’s already interest from out of state—and even outside the country.
Something Still Taking Shape
Even with a packed schedule, it doesn’t feel finished.
There are still open spaces in the calendar. Ideas being talked about but not confirmed. The kind of conversations that usually lead to something unexpected.
Maybe it’s another large-scale concert.
Maybe it’s something the park has done before, brought back in a different way.
Or maybe it’s something entirely new.
For now, it’s left open……….

Looking Ahead
What’s clear is that this summer isn’t being treated like a typical season.
It’s not just about opening the gates and running the usual schedule. It’s about using the space differently—testing ideas, bringing in new audiences, and building something that stretches beyond what people expect when they hear the name Land of Illusion.
Some of it is already set.
Some of it is still coming together.
And some of it hasn’t been announced yet.
Aqua Adventures Opens May 23rd for Memorial Day Weekend, then opens Daily starting May 30th!
